Magic Tricks- Start Learning Today!
64Performing magic tricks for an audience can be great fun! You can learn magic in a number of ways. The first, and easiest way, is to use the internet and learn from your home. There are a number of websites where you can view magic and download tutorials to get you started. The MagicTricksSchool is an example.
You can also learn magic by visiting your local library. Your library will have books devoted to teaching you magic. This is a great way to learn. Books like ‘Magic The Complete Course’ by Joshua Jay, or ‘Mark Wilson’s Complete Course in Magic’ are highly recommended. And then there is the ‘Tarbell Course in Magic’ which many top magicians have used to get their start. Libraries typically have a great many books devoted to teaching you how to learn magic.
Another great way to learn magic tricks is to join a club or organization. Two of the top organizations for magicians are the International Brotherhood of Magicians and the Society of American Magicians. Both have youth groups that you can join if you are just getting started.
If you do not live in a town that has a club for the International Brotherhood of Magicians or the Society of American Magicians, there are groups on the internet that you can join and meet magicians and learn how to perform magic tricks. You should definitely consider ‘The Magic Classroom’ whose slogan is ‘Learning Together to Make Magic Happen’. Their membership consists of professional magicians as well as beginners.
Once you begin learning how to do magic tricks and gain practice performing in front of people, you may want to take your learning further and learn how to perform magic professionally. One of the best ways is to learn directly from someone who has already worked as a professional magician. Many magicians get their start performing magic for birthday parties. Birthday Magicology teaches you how to develop your act, get clients, and make money. This would be the type of course to consider once you get to this point. With this course, you get three months of weekly lessons that you can download in both PDF and audio format.
Whether you want to learn magic tricks simply to entertain friends or have hopes of someday being a professional magician, the first step is to get started! And, with the ideas presented above, you can get started today!

Teaching magic can be one of the most rewarding things there are. Enjoy!
For people who don't have a local group of magicians, sites like these are paramount to learn magic well. Good job, Jim.
my #1 source for internet magic.
When I do my magic shows and kids ask me where they can learn magic, I send them to Jim's site. Awesome stuff!!

Jim Great info for all and now going to spread the word and your site. Keep it real Jim
Jim great job I love what you are doing for magic with all these places to go. Wish I had thought of it. I enjoy helping people who want to learn about magic and I know you do to. Keep up the good work. I will be out in the trenches working my magic and working my Escapes. Eugene Wilkes
Jim has offered some sage advice for the aspiring magician, and his use of the Internet to promote the art of magic is the perfect blend of modern technology with time honored tradition.
I highly recommend Jim's "Birthday Magicology" lessons, I was fortunate enough to be involved with the development of this series when Jim invited me to serve as a Beta Tester/sounding board if you will. This series of lessons is well organized, comprehensive, easy to follow, and practical.
Why not take the time to drop by the Magic Classroom for a visit you will not be disappointed, and while you are there say hello to Jim he is a very personable guy and would love to hear from you.
Keep up the good work Jim.

Nice job Jim...I think sites like this are the best way to reach out to new magicians. As the magicians you are helping grow I hope you encourage them to join with others who love the art. Of course I would suggest The Society of American Magicians...the oldest and most prestigious magic organization in the world. www.magicsam.com
